Aachen Horse Show CHIO 2023:

Sibylle Keupen, Lord Mayor of the City of Aachen, and ALRV President Stefanie Peters, award Prof. Hermann Bühlbecker, sole proprietor of the Lambertz Group, with the "Prize of the City of Aachen".

Award ceremony in front of more than 40,000 spectators in the CHIO Main Stadium

"This award has a special value for me. I would like to take this opportunity to point out that a former Federal President once wrote me a letter saying ... 'when I think of Aachen, I think of Charlemagne, Lambertz and the horses'. As a family business from Aachen dating back to 1688, whose name Aachener Printen- und Schokoladenfabrik Henry Lambertz, and whose products Aachener Printen and whose history are so closely linked to Aachen, it has always been a matter of concern for us to support this wonderful horse show. I am extremely pleased to receive this award from my home town and, as someone who was born and lives here, I particularly appreciate it - perhaps even more than other awards I have received on other occasions outside Aachen. Many thanks for that.

Stefanie Peters, President of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein (ALRV), praised the prize-winner with the words: "With you, Prof. Bühlbecker, I associate values such as quality, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. It is precisely with these values that you have been supporting the further development of the CHIO Aachen for many years now. I congratulate you most sincerely - also on behalf of the ALRV - on this award, which you have without question very much deserved, and I am looking forward to many more years of cooperation and constructive exchange with you."

The award ceremony naturally also included a unique and unforgettable final moment - in the impressive setting of the stadium and accompanied by the applause of the audience: a lap of honor in the carriage - with the award winner Prof. Hermann Bühlbecker and Mayor Sibylle Keupen as well as ALRV President Stefanie Peters.
