EUROPEAN POLITICIANS VISIT LAMBERTZ
High-ranking visitors at Lambertz: Lambertz sole owner Prof. Hermann Bühlbecker and Aachen Mayoress Sibylle Keupen invited to an euregional exchange round at the Lambertz Group's main plant in Aachen. Guests were Maastricht Mayor Annemarie Penn-te Strake, Kerkrad Mayor Petra Dassen-Housen and Isabelle Weykmans, Minister for Culture, Employment and Tourism of the German-speaking Community (DG) from Belgium. Prof. Bühlbecker spoke with the ladies mainly about the current market and consumer situation, but also took the visitors on a tour of the production facility - a highlight that always gives our guests a real treat, whether international personalities or regional sweet tooths. However, Prof. Bühlbecker was particularly concerned about the euregional network and the "EU geographical protection of origin", which legally protects and certifies our traditional products such as the Aachener Printen, the Dresdner Stollen or the Nürnberger Lebkuchen, but also other German and euregional quality products.
Prof. Bühlbecker is particularly committed to the quality and protection of traditional German recipes and products for the entire market: "We all benefit from the protection of this cultural asset. Aachener Printen, Nürnberger Lebkuchen and Dresdner Stollen stand for long-lived tradition that is still relevant to consumers today and with which people also identify locally. That is why they are particularly worthy of protection."
