Today Kinkartz is one of the largest and best-performing bakery specialists, valued enormously by retailers and consumers as a supplier to the Aachen-based gingerbread specialists.
|1872: ||It was founded in Aachen by master baker Wilhelm Kinkartz, who established a bakery at Hotmannspief. The first building no longer exists, falling victim to the war. |
|1905: ||Expansion of the bakery to include a long-life factory. The first chain ovens were introduced and industrial production of bakery goods started. |
|1960: ||After the chaos of the war, the traditional product range of Aachen gingerbread specialities was developed so that, in high season, there were as many as 150-200 employees. Heavy investments were made in equipment and systems, and in 1960 biscuits of all kinds were part of the standard, year-round range. |
|1999: ||The business was bought out by Aachener Printen- und Schokoladenfabrik Henry Lambertz GmbH & Co. KG|
